For 12 years Ruth was the friendly face behind the reception desk at St Luke’s. Loved and respected by fellow volunteers and the staff Ruth worked tirelessly for the hospice and believed in their ethos. In 2008 Ruth was diagnosed with kidney cancer and after initial treatment for this returned to her regular Wednesday afternoon slot. In October 2011, reluctantly Ruth had to retire due to ill health. For a while Ruth was looked after at home by the Home care team and she spent the last 2 weeks of her life at St Luke’s. The love and care given both to Ruth and the family was exemplary. Please continue Ruth’s work and support St Luke’s in her memory. To date over £15 920 has been raised in memory of Ruth, including £5508 raised online. Thank you
